The app scores on your iPhone

Arrow detection, scoring and photo analysis run on your iPhone. No camera frame goes to a server. The app sends only your scores, your target photos, your profile photo, the photos of your gear and your archer profile to your account.

Your Arrow account

You sign in with Apple, with Google, or with an email address and a password. Arrow App never sees your Apple ID password. Arrow App never sees your Google password. A password that you set here is never kept in a readable form. The app has no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.

Your account is yours alone

Arrow App keeps your account on its server. Only you, signed in to your account, can read what is in it. No other archer can read it. Arrow App does not sell your data, does not share it and does not give it to a different company.

Your subscription

Arrow Pro is an App Store subscription. Apple takes the payment, and Arrow App never sees your card. When you subscribe, the app gives Apple your account id, thus Apple can tell the Arrow App server which account holds the plan. The server keeps which plan you hold, its status, its end date and the number of the transaction, and never your card. Apple keeps the receipt, the price and the renewal under your Apple Account.

What the app keeps in your account

While you are signed in, the app keeps your sessions and what you record with them: the scores, the statistics and the marks you add, such as a favorite. It also keeps your target photos, your profile photo, the photos of your gear and your archer profile. The profile is what you fill in on the Profile page, such as your name, email, division, class, club, handedness, the year you started shooting, draw specs, preferred distance, and your home state and city if you set them. Your goals, personal bests, equipment and achievements are also in your account. The frames of a sweep stay on this iPhone: the app keeps them with the session, thus you can look at them again, and they never go to your account. A 3D scan of your bow also stays on this iPhone.

Camera access

The camera runs in a capture mode, to find and score arrows. It also runs if you take your profile photo, a photo of your own target face, or a photo or a 3D scan of your bow. The app records nothing in the background.

Your photo library

The app reads a photo that you select, to score it or to show your gear. It keeps a copy of that photo, and the copy goes to your account.

Location

When you start a sweep or a photo capture, the app asks for your location one time and takes one fix. It keeps that place with the session, to show it on a map, and the place goes to your account with the session. The app takes no fix in the background, and it does not follow you. If you refuse, every capture still works, and the session keeps no place.

The first time you open the Events tab, the app asks for your location for Happening Nearby, and if you agree it takes about one fix a week to sort the events by distance. That fix stays on this iPhone, the app stores no coordinate from it, and it never goes to your account.

A photo from your library can hold the place where you took it. The app reads that data for the same map, and the copy of the photo also holds it. If you do not want this, remove the location from the photo in the Photos app before you select it.

Notifications

The app sends you a notification in two cases, and each one is made on your device. If you turn on practice reminders, it reminds you to shoot. If your iPhone gets too hot during a session, your Apple Watch tells you, so you can move the phone into the shade before the session stops. No server sends you anything.

Your Apple Watch

If you wear a paired Apple Watch, the app sends it the live score of your session, the place of each arrow on the target, and a message when your iPhone gets too hot. The watch sends back the controls you press. All of that travels between your two devices and never through a server.

Deleting your data

If you delete a session, the app immediately removes its scores, photos and sweep frames. If you are online, it also removes them from your Arrow account. If you delete an item of gear, the app removes its photo from this iPhone and from your account, and its 3D scan from this iPhone. Delete Arrow Account in Settings permanently removes all data in your account. If you delete the app, all data on this iPhone goes away.
